Jenna Jaxon Romance--because passion is timeless.

For my final Six Sentence Sunday, I’m putting up six from my historical novel, Only Scandal Will Do.  This has been such a blast for the almost two years I’ve been posting on SSS.  I’m hoping this isn’t really the end, and that there will be a new beginning–an HEA for the Sixers who will miss their Sunday get-togethers.

These six are from another one of my favorite parts of the novel:  Lady Katarina has just married the Marquess of Dalbury (under duress).  A couple of days after the marriage, Dalbury is taking Kat on a tour of his London townhouse.  They end up out in the stables where he gives her a wedding present, a horse named Stella. And this brings them very close together, willingly, for the first time.

Mouth suddenly gone dry, she swallowed, and parted her lips to speak. He hovered above her mouth, his breath…

Jenna Jaxon Romance--because passion is timeless.

Welcome back to Sweet Saturday Sample!  All excerpts here are rated PG-13 or milder.

Here’s another snippet from my medieval trilogy WIP, Time Enough To Love, Book I – Betrothal.

Disclaimer:  This work is still going through the editing process, so please forgive any flaws.

Betrothal with Logo

This series is set in England and France in 1348.  Part 1, Betrothal, takes place at the court of King Edward III.

This excerpt comes just after my last post on Six Sentence Sunday.  Geoffrey and Alyse are talking just after the banns for their marriage have been read for the first time.  Geoffrey has just told her of a great honor that has been bestowed on her. If you’d like last Saturday’s excerpt, it’s here.  If you’d like the next six sentences after that, they are here.  Today, we start with the next sentence, with Alyse longing for another kiss.

Another song for the playlist. From Jace to Aggie.

Cold Hard Bitch – Jet

Now, you’ll soon learn that Aggie isn’t the cold, hard bitch she pretends to be. Especially where Jace is concerned. But she has most of the guys in Sinners fooled. At least at first. Time for an excerpt!

“I won’t make you hold my hand in front of the guys, but when they’re not around, you’re holding it.” She poked him in the ribs. “Got it?”

[Jace] chuckled. God, she loved it when he laughed. She wanted him to laugh hard and often. She hoped she could give him that.

“Got it.” He wrapped his left arm around her shoulders and linked the fingers of his other hand with hers inside his sling. She turned her head to grin at him, and he surprised her by kissing her.

What started as an affectionate brush of…

Jenna Jaxon Romance--because passion is timeless.

onlyscandalwilldo-41Hello to all my fans and followers of Jenna’s Journal.  I’m currently in the fight of my life and I need your help!  Well, it’s maybe not that dire, but…

In case you haven’t heard, my book trailer for Only Scandal Will Do is entered in You Gotta Read’s video contest for January.  The trailer is absolutely fabulous–I’m really not biased, it’s a wonderful depiction of the book.  Created by the incredibly talented Danielle Fine, the trailer seamlessly combines the story elements with the period look of 1761 and highlights it with the stirring music of Kevin McCloud.  You can view it above on the page Scandal Trailer.

Currently, my trailer is in second place with 131 votes.  The lead video has 159 votes.  Voting closes on Sunday, January 27th.

If you haven’t already voted, please vote for me!  I really want to win this one and would appreciate it so much.  Here…

This looks like a good book and is going on my TBR pile.

Author Sam Crescent

1) Tell us about yourself.

Jennifer SimpkinsOkay, let’s see…I live in Tennessee with my husband of almost ten years, my six year old daughter, and our two dogs. For the past six years I’ve been a stay-at-home mom. It’s by no means perfect, and a far cry from glamorous, but my life is pretty great at the moment.

In the spring and summer…and most of the time up until the fall, my life revolves around softball and baseball. If I’m not running the kiddo to her softball practices and games, and I’m not writing, I’m most likely catching a New York Yankees game on television. We’re passionate when it comes to the sport.

You can find her here: Website / Facebook / Twitter / Goodreads

2) What genre do you write and why?

I write contemporary romance that are heartfelt with a little bit of spice sprinkled in. I take it…
