Today I had an incident occur that lead me to write this post. I’ve asked this question many times. Why do women hate other women and seek to bring their sisters down, when they know how hard it is to be a woman in this society.
The truth is, I’ll never know why. Perhaps it fills some void in them? Makes them feel better about themselves, or what they view as a failing? Maybe they’re jealous of something they perceive this “Other woman” has? What I do know is, I refuse to take part in this. I will stand up not only for myself, but my sisters. I also know I refuse to spread the negativity with a snide comment of my own. It’s not who I am.
In this day and age women are looked at as sex objects, expected to be perfect at all times. Bullshit. Beauty is…

Today I find myself thinking deep thoughts. I’m not the person who I want to be just yet, but I’m working toward it and content with my progress. I think self-improvement is a lifelong thing, and of course, no one is perfect. Sadly that’s all too easy to forget in the hustle and bustle that’s life these days. We’re so busy rushing, multi-tasking, and making a living we often forget to just be and love who are in this moment in time.
I have a meditation exercise I do at least twice daily. Every morning when I wake and just before bed, no matter how rough a time I’ve had, because let’s face it we all have those days we wish we could hit the restart button on, I take stock of what I’m grateful for. I give thanks for my blessings, and focus on my goals and my accomplishments…

I know it’s been a while since i had an uplifting post. Life got in the way, and i had to stop the mid-week inspiration. My husband left for deployment and i had a slue of contracts signed. Right now i’m poking my head up for air on a dead line, and i realized. i don’t have to have a dedicated day to share something uplifting.
In this life, I think we all know there are no handouts, but what we aren’t told enough, is to be our own number one fan. Believe in yourself, because there will be so many times others won’t. Times when you’ll depend on your dream, grit, hard work, and confidence to carry you through to the next phase in your journey. Look yourself in the mirror daily and say, I love you, you’re awesome, you can do this, and mean it! Don’t let others’…

Most of us have experienced book reviews, whether it’s reading or writing them. If we are looking for a good book, we might scan other readers’ reviews to decide if the book is worth buying. If we write reviews, we might worry about offending the author or experience negative responses for writing a critical review. If we are an author, we might feel frustrated when a reviewer posts comments that are harsh or unfair. If we are a new or aspiring author, we might feel confused trying to decide which criticism to take and which to ignore.
It’s complicated! Let’s talk about a few of these items, starting with the types of reviews and their purposes. I’ll share two examples of reviews, one positive and one negative. Later, I’ll share some responses from quite a few reviewers I’ve interviewed. I’ll also open discussion for questions and advice about…

I finally got my Christmas tree up. Yes, it is a fiber optics tree. This year I decided to put a few of the homemade ornaments on. Some my grandma made and I cross-stitched a few of them. I didn’t put a lot on, but I think it looks really nice.
Now I can’t wait for my son to get home from college to see it. I haven’t seen Wyatt since we dropped him off in New York in August. I am so excited to see him.
Tomorrow night I will be making waffle cookies, hundred dollar cake (chocolate cake) and pickle dip for work on Tuesday.
Have a great night!
